Braking System
Car braking system needs to be checked periodically to ensure:
- Surfaces between the brake pads and the brake shoes are free from dust (Brakes cleaning)
- To ensure that the brake system is replaced if worn out (Brake pad / disc overhaul).
Why is this required?
- Presence of brake dust or abrasives in the cavity will reduce braking power.
- Worn out pads and shoes reduce braking effectiveness.
- Screeching sound on pressing the brake pedal may be caused due to the dust or abrasives.
